The Broads are back in town!
While our 2020 show ended much sooner than we hoped and our 2021 show will be primarily virtual, the show must go on! What sort of Broads would we be if we did not still give it a try?!
This year’s show will be a digital flip book of work. If you have not checked out the Galena Center for the Arts flip books of exhibits yet, please do so. Ours will be the same format, but with our Broad Ideas theme of inclusive feminism through the telling of women’s stories.
This important project of Broad Ideas is one of community and solidarity. It is the power of creativity and truth telling. We could not do it without you and your support. This year is no different. Please consider joining us for the 4th year as we remind the world that women’s stories have value. After all, we are the ones we’ve been waiting for.
All artists and authors interested in submitting work should carefully go through the details below.
Please submit work via email to by February 5, 2021. Broad Ideas reserves the right to refuse any work that does not fit our show. The deadline of 2/5/21 is a definite deadline and late submissions cannot be accepted. We realize this does not give you much time, but you are welcome to submit work from last year since it was cut short or work you have already made that fits in with Broad Ideas.
Please go to the Submissions tab for additional details on how to submit work..

Broad Ideas - We are the ones we've been waiting for.
Broad Ideas is a celebration, an acknowledgment, and a community of support and solidarity for those that identify as women.
This dynamic show is for everyone that supports women.
All abilities are welcome and encouraged.
The shows’ first opening was March 2, 2018 with additional events throughout the duration of this show, including a special Songwriters Showcase, yoga, Women's HERstory night, a spoken word closing, etc.
March 2019 again offered a myriad of events including the Opening, Silent Sky table reading, a special Songwriter's Showcase, and a jam packed Spoken Word closing that really was a variety show of talents!
Broad Ideas 2020 was able to host our Opening, Broad Strokes (a painting night), and 1 night of our play "Love, Loss, and What I Wore" before the COVID-19 pandemic shut us down. Thank you for all your patience during that shuffle.
2021 looks to get creative and still host multiple amazing events, albeit virtual. Click here to see calendar of events.
